This is an enrichment activity open to 3rd-5th graders that meets in room #208 from 2:45 - 3:45. Become part of this exciting group who will write, photograph, and illustrate stories about school and community events from a student perspective. See what it takes to put out a professional looking newsletter. Our staff editor for this program is our dynamic teacher, Ms. Beggerly.
This year we have moved from a Student Council to a larger group of students referred to as Leadership. The goal of Leadership is to increase our school spirit, include students, and to work to improve our wonderful school through a multitude of projects.
We have installed raised garden beds in front each of our classroom pods, planted several different citrus trees in our orchard, and constructed a composting station. This dedicated group of students weeds (as needed), fertilizes the plants, and collects organic waste from our campus to compost. They also raise worms to add to the plants and trees as natural fertilizer. These students truly are working on their green thumbs.
